Earth hour

Maybe its all the propaganda they've been spreading these last weeks, but I'm already excited when I think about Earth Hour. As last year didn't go so well, I'm thinking of being more careful this year. What happened last year, you ask? Here it goes:

March 28 2009: I couldn't keep myself of talking about Earth Hour all day, which, of course, annoyed my parents a lot. They finally decided to save some energy and switch off all of the lights. This made me quite happy but I should mention that they switched off the lights for only 15minutes (!) and 2 HOURS BEFORE EARTH HOUR!
This means that when the time came for the real E.H. (I'll call it like this from now on) we were all sitting before the TV watching the evening news. Great. You cannot imagine how disappointed I was, even when my parents told me that we had "already done Earth Hour". Yeah right!

March 27 2010: ????????? *to be updated*

I already know that I need to FIRMLY convince my parents to switch off the lights for real this time.... The other possibility is that I cut off electricity in the whole apartment, say by poring water on an open cable (veryveryverymega dangerous but of course I like precautions. BTW I know I could just switch off electricity but I don't happen to be very good at handling those little buttons in the box-of-which-I-don't-know-the-name).

  1. We had something this a few weeks ago. '(town) Unplugged'. No one was allowed to use any electronics, and we had to spend time with our family so we technically got no homework :D. Earth Hour isn't very popular here..
